Junkyard

"Junkyard" is the result of using refurbished bits and mismatched hardware from the bottom of my parts bins to come up with something rather exceptional - and this three-string cigar box guitar definitely brings great sound and playability.

Built on a slightly abused and refinished Big Sky cigar box with laser cut f-holes, this build has a maple neck and rosewood fretboard finished with natural tung oil. The hardware is a combo of brass, black, silver, black acrylic and and brushed steel and as a whole it just works. Reverb springs feature on the inside and add some growl and throaty resonation. The electrics are simple with a P90 going straight to the volume control and output jack.

So, how's the sound? Fat, round, complex, with a hint of growl - just right for gritty blues. Strung with Ernie Ball strings and tuned to DAD.
