Other Services
I primarily build one-off and one of a kind cigar box guitars, but I do offer ***LIMITED*** repair and setup services for guitar owners and players. Since I build guitars I already have all the necessary tools and skills to take care of many guitar player's needs.
That said, I don't call myself a luthier - I am an artist who knows a lot of lutherie. My builds are my main priority and my availability to take in a service job is entirely dependent on what is on my workbench at any given time. I will also freely admit that there are some services I cannot provide, such as full-on restorations, acoustic neck resets, or Floyd Rose setups, just to name a few. Feel free to ask if you're not sure, I'll give you a straight answer.
Setups
I can indeed do basic guitar setups on many guitars. A setup includes adjusting string action and intonation, truss rod adjustments, pickup height adjustments, taking care of any fret buzzing, lubricating the string nut and any other cleaning your guitar might require. I'll also throw on a fresh set of strings!
Please note: I will NOT consider setups involving acoustic neck resets or Floyd Rose tremolos. Nope. SOOOO much nope.
Repairs
I will happily service any of my own cigar box builds and will generally only charge for parts and shipping, if any.
I can also do many repairs and larger jobs a guitar might need, including replacing frets, repairing electrics, and sometimes even repairing a broken neck. Each job will be considered on an individual basis. There are many repair jobs I can do, but keep in mind I am not a full-service luthier and I there are things that I simply cannot or will not do. I won't take your money if I can't handle the job!
One more thing...
Also, because I keep getting asked - I do NOT teach or provide music lessons and I have NO plans to do so in the future. Nerve damage in my own hands prevents me from playing like I used to and I'm simply not up to teach a class. I will be more than happy to show you how easy it is to get started with open tuning and there are a lot of great resources on YouTube if you want to go from there.
