Anode
"Anode" takes its name from that resonator plate that's up front and center on this build. You put in your musical energy, and you get positive results.
This is built on a handmade walnut box with solid walnut sides and walnut ply on the back and face. The inside of the box is braced with maple and poplar which matched the neck wood. The fingerboard and floating bridge puck are rosewood and there is bone nut at each end of the string for better sound transfer and sustain. The headstock has a fire scorched facia and a laser cut and engraved maple truss rod cover. Steel and chrome hardware features throughout, with that aluminum resonator capped with a steel cover plate for that classic resonator look.
At the electric heart of this build is a responsive three pole humbucker that adds a full buttery flavor to the tone when you plug this thing in. You can control the amount of that butter on your plate with the tone and volume controls. Everything is then piped to your amp via a two-pronged Pure Tone output jack.
I went with a lighter gauge string set (36/26/17/13) to let that resonator vibrate and tuned it to a very "traditional" GDG. I mean, this has a classic gitty look, so I decided it needed that classic gitty tuning. String action is low and the intonation is properly dialed in. Yeah, it sounds like a resonator, with good sustain and a rich twangy tone that is reminiscent of a good banjo, and there's enough of a swampy blues kick to keep bluegrass purists happy.
