Six Seven
Yeah, this is serial number "Six Seven", hence the name. It's a contrarian shibboleth and doesn't make outward sense yet it somehow works, which is pretty much the point. I also might be riding the meme train on this one, but that's for you to decide if there's any shame in my game here.
This is a basic cigar box build with brass corner protectors, latches, and hinges, and steel and chrome hardware elsewhere. This includes that single coil pickup which goes straight to a volume and output jack on the front. The neck is poplar with a maple fingerboard and a fifty centimeter diatonic scale. A string tree and bone nut keeps things in line at the headstock. (Or headstick, if you prefer.) It's nothing fancy but it works beautifully.
There are two wound strings (36/17) that are both tuned to G. This has the effect of each note packing its own drone while still giving room for range and improvisational noodling. There's no truss rod on this one because there just isn't enough string tension on this build to warrant the additional hardware. The action is superb as it is and the twin materials that make up the neck should be enough to maintain stability.
Serial number 2506067, handcrafted in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Releasing June 12th.
