San Chulo
Pimp, dapper, dandy, tacky, cute, cool - take your pick. "San Chulo" is the patron saint.
"Chulo" can mean a lot of things depending on the context - and somehow this build encompasses them all. This three-string has a three-coil single coil delta pickup with tone and volume controls wired to a gold-toned Puretone output jack. In fact this build is full of flourish and flashes of gold hardware. Laser-cut f-holes bracket an embossed cigar box label on the face while the inside you'll find a repeat of that fine cigar box art. A tung oiled maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard compliment the warm tones of the box itself and is topped with a laser engraved maple truss rod cover.
This cigar box guitar is very cigar box guitar in it's sound. It's responsive, bright and punchy, a bit throaty, with no small amount of bluesy grit underneath it all. That single coil gives a nice bit of friendly bite when you plug it in.
String gauges are 46/36/26 all tuned to DAD, because reasons.
