Downscale
Like the majority of cigar box guitars, this is currently tuned to GDG - only it's a full octave lover and strung with 85/65/45 bass strings. "Downscale" will definitely rattle windows when plugged into an amp. The playing range is somewhere between a detuned guitar and a bass. The tone is focused and tight with nice attack without sacrificing the bottom end, aaaand it responds well to overdrive without being all boomy. It growls.
The coffin box is pine, stained black with the face painted flat black. The face of the headstock is also painted flat black and features black hardware with flashes of chrome throughout. The neck is hard maple with some lovely quilting going on. The scale length is a standard guitar length at 25.5 inches but carries heavier bass strings with a truss rod under the rosewood and neck through body construction that carries the tension. The action is low. Four soffited soundholes surround that incredibly responsive four-blade humbucker that can be dialed in with tone and volume controls. Inside the box is a death's head moth medallion mounted on a blackened walnut backing.
It's all appropriately brutal 🤘
