Crude Awakening

Nearly all of my builds have truss rods, and I'm putting this one to the test. This is the first ever bass from my workbench! "Crude Awakening" is built on a big "Midnight Oil" box from asylum. Old-school burners might recognize the name of this build and yeah, it's partly inspired by that event - there's nothing quite like dropping something loud and unexpected.

This cigar box bass is powered by a spicy P90. Sure, there are laser cut sound holes for acoustic playing (and it sounds nice) but the real magic comes from when you plug it in. The twin reverb springs running under that P90 are extra long for a bit of extra induction and rumble.

Other details include tone and volume, double-prong output jack, black, brass, and gold hardware, painted headstock, laser engraved truss rod cover, and it's all finished with orange and tung oils. It definitely has a nice balance and weight!

This build is strung with .105/.085/.065 gauge strings and tuned to FCF.
